Jason Derulo left an extremely generous tip at a restaurant that was enough to cover a restaurant employee's college tuition.
A waiter at a restaurant in Omaha, Nebraska, USA, posted a video on TikTok revealing that the singer left him a $5,000 tip on a bill totaling $799.95 during a March 5 outing at Charleston's Restaurant.
Jordan Schaffer, the waiter who posted the video, also noted that the generous tip was enough to cover the cost of his college tuition for an entire semester.
"Wow, my heart is beating really fast," the waiter says in the video, while looking at Jason Derulo and company.
The singer replied: "You guys are really awesome."
Then, back in the kitchen, Jordan Schaffer speaks to the camera and gives a warm thank you to Jason Derulo for his incredible gesture.
"Hey Jason, thank you," Jordan says. “You just paid for a semester at my college. I can't thank you enough. I hope you and your family have a great time in Omaha. And I hope you'll see us again. Thank you very much," he adds.
Jason Derulo saw Jordan Schaffer's message and retweeted the video to his more than 57 million followers on TikTok and captioned it: "Blessed to be a blessing."
Jordan Schaffer's friends flooded the comments on Jason Derulo's post, expressing their gratitude to the singer.
However, a future employee at the restaurant where Jordan works had a funny reaction: "Come on, I'm starting on Tuesday, I just missed it," he joked.
Jason Derulo is famous for his generosity in his spending on both himself and others.
In October 2020, he treated all the customers at Catch restaurant in Los Angeles to a drink when he was informed that his song "Savage Love" had reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts.
According to Page Six, Jason Derulo spent a whopping $112,742.30 that night.
