LISA has turned her latest PlayStation campaign into a preview of new music, using a 50-second spot to introduce an extended section of “Tarantino,” a track from her upcoming EP “Press Play.” The BLACKPINK star moves through several PlayStation worlds and helps launch a limited-edition DualSense controller she co-designed, while the unreleased song gives fans another taste of her new solo era.
LISA has turned her latest PlayStation campaign into a preview of new music, using a 50-second spot to introduce an extended section of “Tarantino,” a track from her upcoming EP “Press Play.” The BLACKPINK star appears in a stylized gaming world, moves through several PlayStation titles and helps launch a limited-edition DualSense controller she co-designed, while the new song plays underneath.
The commercial opens with LISA stepping into an elevator and selecting floor five, identified as her penthouse. Instead of simply reaching the top, the journey turns into a sequence of different gaming worlds, allowing the campaign to connect her image with some of PlayStation’s biggest titles.
She picks up a limited-edition DualSense wireless controller and moves through references to “Marvel Wolverine,” “Kena: Scars of Kosmora,” “God of War: Laufey” and “Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls.” The result is less like a standard celebrity endorsement and more like a short visual mission built around the idea of choosing a new quest.
The strongest music element is “Tarantino,” which receives an extended preview throughout the spot. The song appears on LISA’s upcoming EP “Press Play,” scheduled for release on October 23, and the commercial gives fans a longer taste of the track before the project arrives.
The preview places the singer in a confident, cinematic mode. Over a rolling beat, she sings about long nails, lipstick, power and being “a boss” and “a don,” language that matches the visual concept of moving through different game worlds while remaining fully in control.
That connection between song and campaign is especially deliberate. “Tarantino” already carries a film-inspired title, and the line about life feeling like a movie fits naturally with a spot built around fast transitions, action and different fictional environments.
The PlayStation collaboration is not new. LISA’s global PS5 partnership began last year, but this campaign expands it with new hardware and a stronger music tie-in. The limited-edition DualSense controller featured in the video was designed with her involvement and is scheduled to arrive on October 30 in limited quantities.
Preorders are available through PlayStation, while the wider campaign also includes official merchandise. Apparel, tote bags, hats and other items are being sold through LISA’s Amazon store and PlayStation’s online shop.
The project gives the BLACKPINK star another brand collaboration that feels closely connected to her solo identity rather than separate from it. Instead of appearing in a generic advertisement, she is using the campaign to preview unreleased music and place herself inside a world that reflects the visual language of the song.
The timing also helps build momentum for “Press Play.” The EP arrives just days after the PlayStation spot, turning the commercial into part of the release campaign rather than an isolated endorsement.
“Press Play” is led by “SaWaDiKa,” which made a strong chart entrance in September. The single debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 23 on the Billboard Global 200, giving LISA another solo chart entry ahead of the EP.
The new project follows her debut solo album “Alter Ego,” released in 2025. That record reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200, confirming that her solo work had built a significant audience outside BLACKPINK’s group releases.
“Tarantino” now adds a different mood to the new era. Based on the preview, the track leans into confidence, attitude and a cinematic sense of control, with lyrics that are designed to be instantly memorable rather than overly detailed.
The commercial also makes smart use of LISA’s image as a performer. Her choreography and fashion are not the only focus. The ad presents her as someone making choices, changing environments and driving the action forward, which mirrors the assertive tone of the song.
That makes the “boss” theme more than a lyric. The entire concept depends on LISA deciding where to go next, picking up the controller and entering each new world on her own terms.
The new PlayStation campaign arrives during a particularly active period in her solo career. Earlier this month, the documentary “Always Lalisa” opened in cinemas, following her first year working as a solo artist outside BLACKPINK.
The documentary gives another view of her transition from group member to independent performer, while the PlayStation campaign and “Press Play” show what that solo identity looks like in a more commercial and visual setting.
Next month, LISA is also scheduled to begin a Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on November 12. That residency adds another major live chapter to a year already filled with film, music and international brand projects.
Together, those moves show how broad her solo strategy has become. She is not relying on one format. Her current schedule includes streaming releases, cinema, live performance, gaming partnerships and fashion-driven merchandise.
The PlayStation spot fits neatly into that larger picture because it combines several of those worlds at once. It is an advertisement, but also a music teaser, a visual performance and a product launch.
For fans, the biggest immediate draw is still “Tarantino.” The 50-second clip offers enough of the track to establish its mood without revealing the full song, making the commercial part of the anticipation around “Press Play.”
The choice to preview the song through a gaming campaign also gives it a different first impression than a traditional teaser. Instead of a studio snippet or social-media post, listeners hear it while watching LISA move through a carefully designed series of game-inspired scenes.
That approach matches the title of the EP as well. “Press Play” already suggests interaction, control and entertainment, so a PlayStation campaign feels almost unusually well aligned with the project’s branding.
The limited-edition controller strengthens that connection. Because LISA helped design the hardware, the collaboration extends beyond simply lending her image to the campaign and gives the partnership a more direct creative component.
With “Press Play” arriving on October 23, the campaign is now serving as one of the final previews before the EP is released in full. “SaWaDiKa” has already introduced the era, while “Tarantino” adds a sharper, more cinematic side.
The rest of the project will show how those tracks fit together when the full EP arrives, but the PlayStation spot already gives “Tarantino” a clear identity: confident, playful and built around the idea of LISA taking control of the world around her.
By the end of the 50-second clip, the line between music promo and gaming ad is almost completely blurred. That seems to be the point. LISA is not simply appearing beside PlayStation products; she is using the campaign as part of the rollout for her next release, turning a brand partnership into another piece of the “Press Play” era.
