Kanye West is selling his new collection in garbage bags

"I'm not here to sit around and apologize for my ideas," comments Kanye West.
Kanye West caused a stir with the unorthodox way he chose to launch his new GAP collection.

Instead of displaying the new Yeezy x GAP collection on hangers and stands, the clothes were piled into giant garbage bags scattered around the store.

In a viral post that has been liked by more than 60,000 accounts, a New York-based Twitter user famously commented that GAP employees "won't even help you find your size, you just have to search through everything." .

The photo made the rounds online, with many declaring that Kanye West's unconventional approach was "a social experiment".

Kanye West has defended his sale of Yeezy x GAP clothing in giant black construction bags that some mistook for garbage bags, and after the backlash, he agreed to make a rare media appearance.

The 45-year-old rapper, designer and entrepreneur spoke to Fox News and claimed it was "God's plan" to correct what was reported on the network.

The point of this tactic, he said, was to promote a more egalitarian approach to clothing.

"I'm an innovator and I'm not here to sit around and apologize for my ideas," Kanye West stressed, before repeating his oft-repeated statements about the media's attempts to put him in a box.

“This is not a joke, this is not a game, this is not just a collaboration with a celebrity. This is my life. I struggle to be able to change clothing and bring the best designs to people,” she continued.

The new Yeezy x GAP collection was inspired by "the kids" and "the homeless," according to a recent Kanye West Instagram post.

The Los Angeles Times noted that the new Yeezy x GAP collection includes items such as a $40 keychain and a $340 coat. Before its launch last year, it was advertised as an affordable clothing line.
