Kanye West says he's 'not a nazi'

Kanye West has insisted he is “not a Nazi” after reflecting on his recent controversial statements.

Last week, the Stronger rapper launched a provocative attack on X, retracting his 2022 apology for anti-Semitic remarks, calling himself a “Nazi,” praising Adolf Hitler, selling a swastika T-shirt on his website, and claiming “dominion” over his wife, Bianca Sensori.

However, on Wednesday night, West returned to X to walk back some of his comments.

“Upon further thought, I realized I am not a Nazi,” the 47-year-old artist wrote.

West, also known as Ye, did not provide any further explanation or issue an apology.

Following his latest outburst, the American Jewish Congress (AJC) and celebrities such as David Schwimmer, Isla Fisher, and Charlie Puth publicly condemned his remarks.

At the same time, music producer Lior Cohen penned an open letter urging West to abandon hate speech.

“With anti-Semitism on the rise, your voice and influence carry significant responsibility. I urge you to realize the pain your words cause Jewish communities and all who oppose hate,” Cohen wrote. “Your talent and reach could be used to heal and inspire, to unite and promote understanding. Instead, you have chosen a path that sows division and perpetuates harmful stereotypes.”

West has faced backlash for similar remarks in the past. In October 2022, after making anti-Semitic comments, he was widely criticized, leading Adidas to sever ties with him, ending their Yeezy collaboration.
