John Lennon & Yoko Ono: Their love story comes to life in “One to One”

The highly anticipated documentary will be screened exclusively in IMAX on April 11.

A Rare Glimpse into Lennon & Ono’s New York Years

The legendary love story of John Lennon and Yoko Ono takes center stage in One to One, a new documentary that offers an intimate, unfiltered look at their life together in New York.

Directed by Kevin Macdonald, One to One highlights Lennon’s only full-length concert after leaving The Beatles. On August 30, 1972, Lennon and Ono took the stage at Madison Square Garden for the One to One Benefit Show, a charity concert that became one of the defining moments of his post-Beatles career.

The film also explores the 18 months leading up to the concert, a period when the couple lived in Greenwich Village, immersed in the worlds of American television and political activism.

Unreleased Footage & Music by Sean Ono Lennon

As seen in the trailer, Macdonald crafts the documentary using archival material, offering an authentic and raw portrayal of Lennon and Ono’s relationship.

Additionally, One to One features never-before-seen audio and video, along with new music production and remixes by their son, Sean Ono Lennon.

The film was first announced in May 2023 and made its debut at the Venice Film Festival in August. Earlier this year, it was also an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival.

Other Documentaries on Lennon & Ono

One to One is not the only recent documentary revisiting this transformative period in Lennon and Ono’s lives.

In October 2023, Daytime Revolution premiered, focusing on their groundbreaking 1972 appearance on The Mike Douglas Show. During their week as co-hosts, they transformed the program into a platform for social activism, inviting guests such as Ralph Nader, George Carlin, Jerry Rubin (co-founder of the Yippies), and Bobby Seale of the Black Panthers.
