Drake ties Jay-Z and Taylor Swift for most solo no. 1 albums

Drake has made history once again, tying Jay-Z and Taylor Swift for the most solo No. 1 albums in the 68-year history of the Billboard 200 chart.

The Canadian rapper’s latest project, Some Exy Songs 4 U—a collaborative album with PartyNextDoor—debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated March 1. This marks Drake’s 14th No. 1 album, putting him in elite company.

Only the Beatles Have More No. 1 Albums

With 14 chart-topping albums, Drake, Jay-Z, and Taylor Swift now share the second-place record for the most No. 1 albums of all time. The only act with more is The Beatles, who hold the record with 19.

Drake first reached No. 1 in 2010 with Thank Me Later. His most recent chart-topping album before this was For All the Dogs in October 2023.

Drake’s Collaborative Chart Success

Some Exy Songs 4 U was first teased months ago and officially announced on February 3, just ahead of its Valentine’s Day release. This marks Drake’s third collaborative album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200, following Her Loss with 21 Savage (2022) and What a Time to Be Alive with Future (2015).

Drake now surpasses other music legends, with only a few artists trailing close behind. Barbra Streisand, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Future, and Ye (formerly Kanye West) each hold 11 No. 1 albums.

The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums in the U.S. based on various consumption metrics. The full chart for March 1, 2025, will be published on Billboard’s website on February 25.
