Reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee has filed a $250 million (£194 million) lawsuit against his ex-wife, Mireddys González, accusing her of financial mismanagement and defamation.
According to the lawsuit, González and her sister, Ayeicha González Castellanos, allegedly mismanaged two of his companies, making reckless and self-serving decisions that negatively impacted both the businesses and Daddy Yankee himself.
"Mireddys and Ayeicha González Castellanos assumed powers beyond what was permitted and made decisions that harmed both the companies and Mr. Ayala Rodríguez (Daddy Yankee),” the legal document states.
Following the lawsuit’s public disclosure, González took to social media to express her emotions about the situation. She shared several images accompanied by Bible verses, and in one post, she wrote, “Stop showing empathy to people who treat you badly.”
In another post, she added, “Emotional attachment is a prison for the soul; it makes you see virtues that don’t exist and hope where there is no hope.”
Daddy Yankee and Mireddys González had been together since their school days and married in 1995. After nearly three decades of marriage, their separation was officially announced in February 2024.
Their divorce was finalized on February 18 through a virtual hearing, with both parties represented by their lawyers, avoiding an in-person confrontation.
