Daddy Yankee: Return - surprise after his retirement from music

Although Daddy Yankee released his farewell album last year, he still hasn't said his last (musical) word.

In a show of sincere gratitude to listeners worldwide for their tremendous support of his farewell album and tour, Daddy Yankee presents a new unreleased single titled "La Hora y El Día" featuring Justin Quiles and Dalex from the "LegendDaddy".

After his historic sold out 'La Última Vuelta Tour', Daddy Yankee decided to please his fans everywhere with the surprise release of 'La Hora y El Día' (The Hour and the Day).

The song, which was recorded a year ago, unites three of Latin music's most important voices in one emotionally charged creation and highlights both their individual strength and their inimitable chemistry with each other.

The music video for "La Hora y El Día" deals with a case of infidelity with incendiary results between shocking and cinematic scenes.

Daddy Yankee posted an emotional message on Instagram explaining that he suffered a knee injury during his tour and that, along with logistical issues, was the reason for the postponement of his January 2023 concerts in Puerto Rico.

Although he is retired, he cannot close his career without appearing on his island, Puerto Rico.

Daddy Yankee's farewell album 'LegendDaddy' continues to resonate worldwide.

It earned a Grammy nomination in the Best Música Urbana Album category, giving Daddy Yankee his fifth career nomination. The album continues to be a phenomenon, amassing over three billion streams worldwide.

Not only did it become the world's No. 1 latin album, but the worldwide hit 'Remix' from 'LegendDaddy' climbed to No. 1 on the Latin Airplay Chart in the US and Puerto Rico, while 'Rumbaton' reached No. 1 of the Latin Urban Airplay Chart in the US this week.

"LegendDaddy" was also the first album of 2022 to go multi-platinum in the US, with over one billion streams, and was named the top Latin album of the first half of the previous year.

Daddy Yankee's farewell album also hit No. 1 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums Chart, marking the Puerto Rican artist's fifth consecutive debut at the top of that chart.

In addition, "LegendDaddy" broke into the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 and climbed to No. 8 on the chart. This is Daddy Yankee's highest chart position to date and his first Top 10 entry in 15 years since 2007's "El Cartel: The Big Boss."

In addition, "LegendDaddy" topped Spotify's weekly Top Album Chart.

The farewell tour 'La Última Vuelta Tour' was Daddy Yankee's biggest ever, grossing over $198 million in over 83 concerts in 2022. It was also the second biggest tour by a Latin American artist in Boxscore history.
