Demi Lovato - Dancing With The Devil

April 03, 2021

Demi Lovato releases her most personal and sensitive record.

"Dancing With The Devil… The Art of Starting Over" is much more than its title suggests.

Demi Lovato danced with the devil for most of her adult life, battling abuse and eating disorders while after the near-fatal episode of substance abuse in 2018, she starts from the beginning, trying to accept what has been tarnished her past.

"Dancing With The Devil… The Art of Starting Over" expresses the triumph of life over death and is an indisputable testimony of the healing and laxative power of confession when using music as a medium.

The album accompanies the release of Demi Lovato 's documentary series "Dancing With The Devil" which is already available on YouTube and follows a similar chronological order as it examines the singer' s struggles and the course of her recovery.

The end result is more consistent than any other work of the singer.

The long title of "Dancing With The Devil… The Art of Starting Over", released by Island Records / Universal Music, reflects the two parts to which the album is thematically divided. The first part is a short preface that deals with the "darkest" moments of Demi Lovato, before giving the baton to the second part, where "it starts from the beginning".

Demi Lovato shares moments of this trip with remarkable artists.

He meets Ariana Grande in "Met Him Last Night", co-stars with Noah Cyrus in "Easy", collaborates with Sawetiee in "My Girlfriends Are My Boyfriend", while the album also includes her collaboration with Sam Fischer in "What Other People Say ».

Through each of his songs one realizes the magnitude of Demi Lovato's strength, will and courage to follow a detox program, to remove from her life what hurt her, to break up her engagement and to forgive herself.

With "Dancing With The Devil… The Art of Starting Over" he manages to create something admirable, to create an album about death that is full of life.
