Will.i.am prepares another collaboration with Britney Spears

October 01, 2022

Will we hear any more new songs from Britney Spears? According to will.i.am, the odds are high.

The frontman of the Black Eyed Peas commented on this possibility in his appearance on the show "Good Morning Britain" on British television.

will.i.am collaborated with Britney Spears in 2012 on the hit 'Scream & Shout' which was later included on his album '#willpower'

With Britney Spears now climbing the charts with her new collaboration with Elton John on 'Hold Me Closer', it begs the question of whether this is really the start of her comeback.

"We've done some great things together and I'm so happy she's started this new journey and she's shining," will.i.am told 'Good Morning Britain'.

"She still has obstacles, but you know what, we're all there to support her," she continued, adding that she approves of her husband, Sam Asghari: "Sam is awesome. She's found an angel, someone who will really support her in her fight." he said.

will.i.am also said he was happy that Britney Spears was freed from her guardianship after 13 years.

"I'm so glad he was able to get out of the situation he was in. She deserves the best. She is sweet. A great contribution to popular music," he said.

After will.i.am confirmed that he has kept in touch with Britney Spears, he was asked if they have discussed working together again on a record label.

"Yes. There were things that were in the works. Things we've done in the past,” she replied shyly, avoiding looking at the camera. Unfortunately, he didn't reveal any details about what those "things" are.

"I can't reveal anything. I live a very private life,” he said with a laugh.

When asked if the public should expect an announcement in the near future, will.i.am joked: "An announcement about what?"

will.i.am also praised Britney Spears' collaboration with Elton John on "Hold Me Closer": "That song is awesome," he said.

"Scream & Shout" by will.i.am and Britney Spears was released in November 2012 and reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is currently triple platinum in the US and has sold over 8 million worldwide.

The music video for "Scream & Shout" has garnered over 960 million views on YouTube to date.
