The Weeknd has reached another major milestone in his career: his latest single, “Cry for Me,” has climbed to the top of the Billboard Rhythmic Airplay chart, marking his 15th No. 1 on this chart. With this achievement, he surpasses Chris Brown and now ranks third all-time, behind only Drake (39 No. 1s) and Rihanna (17).
“Cry for Me” rose from No. 3, dethroning Doechii’s “Denial Is a River,” which dropped to No. 7 following a 20% dip in radio spins. According to Luminate data, “Cry for Me” was the most-played song on rhythmic-format U.S. radio stations during the week of April 11–17.
Notably, both “Cry for Me” and its predecessor “Timeless” come from The Weeknd’s latest album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. This marks the first time since his Starboy era (2016–2017) that an album of his has delivered multiple No. 1 hits on the Rhythmic Airplay chart.
