Taylor Swift has made a generous donation to a children’s non-profit organization, continuing her streak of philanthropy during an incredible year for her career.
The 35-year-old global superstar, who made history with her Eras World Tour surpassing $2 billion (£1.6 billion) in revenue, donated $250,000 (£200,000) to Operation Breakthrough, a Kansas City-based organization dedicated to providing education and a safe environment for children living in poverty.
The news was shared on Monday when the organization posted a heartfelt thank-you message on social media. The post featured a video of children holding decorated signs expressing gratitude, accompanied by the caption:
“Thank you, @taylorswift, for making our holiday season shine even brighter! Your kindness and thoughtful 250K donation means the world to our children and families.”
Swift’s boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, who has played for the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013, is also a longtime supporter of Operation Breakthrough. The Westlake, Ohio native has been an advocate and financial backer of the organization for a decade.
Operation Breakthrough’s CEO, Mary Esselman, previously shared with USA Today how Kelce’s involvement has grown over the years. “He came for Read Across America Day. He was reading to some of the preschool classrooms ... and he just kept coming back,” she said.
