Selena Gomez has revealed she hasn’t ruled out a return to her music career, though it’s currently on pause.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress and beauty mogul shared that while her focus has shifted to film and television, music remains an option for the future.
“I feel like I’ve accomplished everything I wanted to in music, but it’s exciting because I’m just beginning in film and TV,” the 32-year-old explained. “Music isn’t going anywhere. I’ve just set it aside for now.”
Selena released her third studio album, Rare, in 2020. She followed up with the single Single Soon in 2023 and later dropped Love On earlier this year.
Discussing potential new music in March, she said, “I’d like to think I’m working on an album, but I’m not sure if the songs I’ve created will fit that vision. I’m in a creative process, brewing what I hope are some great tracks.”
This year, Selena has been busy with other ventures. She starred in the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building and earned critical acclaim for her role in the musical Emilia Pérez, where she portrays a cartel leader’s wife.
Additionally, her beauty brand, Rare Beauty, has been a massive success, propelling her to billionaire status in 2023.
While music may return to the spotlight eventually, Selena is currently prioritizing her acting career. “I’ve worked on some amazing projects, and I’m proud of them,” she said. “I enjoy earning my place and love the art of storytelling. I’m excited to do more of that.”
