Playboi Carti returns to no. 1: “Music” tops Billboard 200 again

Playboi Carti is back at the summit of the Billboard 200. His latest release, MUSIC, has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the U.S. album charts for the third time, driven almost entirely by streaming. While overall units dipped compared to previous weeks—landing at 64,000 equivalent album units—the dominance of digital listening is clear: nearly 96% of the total came from streaming.

Streaming Keeps Carti on Top

Out of the 64,000 units, 61,500 came from streaming, amounting to more than 84 million audio streams. Pure album sales were modest at 2,500 units, with digital track sales (TEA) contributing minimally.

New Movers in the Top 10

Elton John & Brandi Carlile: A Harmonious Debut
At No. 9, Who Believes in Angels?—the first joint album by Elton John and Brandi Carlile—enters the chart with 40,000 units sold, largely through physical formats (36,500 units). Loyal fan bases and strong promotional appearances on major TV shows helped secure this debut. It marks Elton’s 22nd Top 10 album and Carlile’s fourth.

Ethel Cain’s Revival Through Vinyl
