Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Slash, Kasabian and Madness are auctioning off a range of specially designed Gibson guitars to help victims of the war in Ukraine.
Musical instrument manufacturer Gibson has created a limited edition of four electric guitars of the Les Paul series under the title "Guitars For Peace" which bear the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag.
Gibson has teamed up with Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Slash and other artists to bring the Ukrainian-colored guitars to the stage on their tours this summer.
The autograph books that traveled with each guitar have been signed by the likes of Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Slash, Fher Olvera of Maná, Nile Rodgers of Chic, Mark Knopfler, Lzzy Hale, Margo Price, Alex Lifeson, the Blossoms, the Fratellis, Kasabian, Madness, Maisie Peters, Paloma Faith, the Charlatans, the Vaccines, Toyah, My Chemical Romance and actor Jason Momoa.
Paul McCartney said: “I am delighted to be auctioning off this beautiful guitar of mine to help the wonderful people of Ukraine. I hope it will help them during this violent Russian invasion."
Guns N' Roses' Slash added: “It's an honor to represent the brave sovereign state of Ukraine. I am proud to support them during this conflict."
Bidding for Gibson Guitars For Peace Ukraine guitars and their autograph books will begin on October 11 as part of Julien's Auctions' live auction "Icons & Idols: Rock 'N' Roll".
Bidding will conclude with a live auction on Friday, November 11, Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13 online at www.JuliensLive.com and at the Hard Rock New York.
100% of the proceeds from the Gibson Guitars For Peace Ukraine Relief guitar auction will go towards meeting the humanitarian needs of the people of Ukraine, as well as the country's post-conflict reconstruction efforts.
In addition to the guitars, Gibson has released the 'Guitars For Peace' T-Shirt to enable anyone interested around the world to show their support for Ukraine in a more affordable way.
100% of the proceeds from the sale of the 'Gibson Ukraine' guitars and 'Guitars For Peace' T-Shirts will be donated to the immediate humanitarian aid efforts in Ukraine through the UK Disaster Emergency Committee, with a portion of the proceeds going to also to restore various music programs in Ukraine when the war ends.
