The official release of Gods of Rock N Roll is set for this Friday, February 14.
The legendary Prince of Darkness has done the impossible! His new single, Gods of Rock N Roll, has already entered Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart—even before its official release!
How did this happen? The answer lies in the song’s history. This track is a reworked version of Gods, originally released in 2015 on Billy Morrison’s album God Shaped Hole. Ozzy co-wrote and performed the song back then, but now it returns in an orchestral edition, featuring enhanced instrumentation and additional guitar work from Steve Stevens (Billy Idol).
The new Gods of Rock N Roll (Orchestral) premiered a few weeks ago on SiriusXM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard and has been in heavy rotation on rock radio stations ever since—already climbing to #26 on the charts!
What’s Next?
The official single release is scheduled for this Friday, February 14, and it will be part of the deluxe edition of Morrison’s upcoming album, The Morrison Project. The album will be available digitally on February 21 and on vinyl on March 7.
But Ozzy isn’t stopping there! He also appears on Crack Cocaine alongside Morrison and Stevens—a track that reached #2 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and #1 on Mediabase’s Active Rock chart last year. The deluxe edition of The Morrison Project will also include two alternate versions of Crack Cocaine.
A Historic Concert
All this success comes alongside a monumental live event: Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert—along with the last-ever performance of Black Sabbath! On July 5, at Villa Park in Birmingham, the legendary frontman will take the stage one last time, joined by an all-star lineup featuring Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice in Chains, Gojira, and many more iconic heavy rock artists.
