Oasis to be accompanied by Richard Ashcroft and Cast on reunion tour

Oasis are reportedly planning to have Richard Ashcroft and the band Cast as support acts on their highly anticipated reunion tour.

Liam Gallagher, 52, and his brother Noel, 57, are reuniting for a massive 2025 tour that will cover the UK, Ireland, the US, and Australia. Since the tour announcement, there has been widespread speculation about whether the group would feature notable 1990s acts as opening performers. According to *The Independent*, indie band Cast is set to kick off the shows, followed by former The Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft, 53, before Oasis takes the stage.

While representatives for Oasis have not confirmed the rumors, it’s believed that official news about the support acts will be revealed next week.

Richard Ashcroft has a longstanding connection with Oasis—his wild lifestyle in the 1990s inspired the band’s 1995 track “Cast No Shadow.” Cast, who previously supported Oasis at their legendary Knebworth shows in 1996, split in 2001 but reunited in 2010. Their seventh album, *Love is the Call*, was released in February.

For the North American leg of the tour, Oasis is rumored to be supported by US rock band Cage the Elephant. However, no support act has been confirmed yet for the Australian shows. Manic Street Preachers have also been floated as a possible opening act.

The reports come after weeks of fan speculation, fueled by Liam’s social media teases. Earlier this month, Liam hinted on X (formerly Twitter) that Richard Ashcroft’s involvement in the tour would be "Biblical," responding to a fan asking about Ashcroft’s potential participation. Liam replied, "That would be BIBLICAL."

When asked by a fan if Blur could support Oasis, Liam expressed his love for the band, humorously suggesting that at some point they should do an "old dears tour" together. He also teased the idea of Richard Ashcroft or Manic Street Preachers as potential support, before later confirming, "The Manics it is." However, Liam playfully added that Ashcroft would still be part of the tour, calling him their “boy from day DOT.”
