Oasis - "The Masterplan": A new book featuring rare photos

Renowned music photographer Kevin Cummins has announced the release of his latest book, Oasis: The Masterplan, featuring never-before-seen photographs of the Gallagher brothers.

A Visual Chronicle of Oasis' Evolution

The book highlights a pivotal twelve-month period that defined Oasis' identity, capturing their transformation in both style and sound. Cummins, known for photographing legendary artists like Ian Curtis and David Bowie, followed the band in their early years, documenting their journey with a distinctive eye.

“I was commissioned to photograph Oasis in different lighting, locations, and styles so Creation Records could determine their best look,” Cummins shared. His images showcase the band's transition from vintage Affleck’s Palace attire to the now-iconic Manchester City blues.

Exclusive Contributions from Noel Gallagher & Cultural Insights

Releasing on March 27, Oasis: The Masterplan includes exclusive commentary from Noel Gallagher, covering topics such as football, fashion, and the band's formative years. Alongside Cummins’ insights, cultural analyst Gail Crowther examines Oasis’ enduring influence on music and pop culture.

Oasis' Long-Awaited Comeback

The book coincides with Oasis' highly anticipated reunion for the Live '25 tour, set to kick off on July 4 in Cardiff. The lineup reportedly features Andy Bell (bass), Gem Archer and Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs (guitars), and Joey Waronker (drums).

Fans are ecstatic about the band’s return. Razz Ashraf, a 29-year-old journalist, expressed his excitement: “Standing in Sifters Records, where the Gallaghers used to shop, is emotional. My dad played Oasis at home, and as I grew up, I realized how important they were to my city.”

New Documentary & Special Releases

Alongside the book, a new film, Live '25, has been announced, directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, and produced by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

Additionally, Oasis is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants with a special reissue. The band also recently topped the charts again with the re-release of their hit single Whatever.

While Oasis is a nominee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Liam Gallagher remains characteristically defiant, stating: “It’s for fools.”

Oasis: The Masterplan launches on March 27 and will be available in select stores and online.
