Tove Lo sings about destructive love in "True Romance"

Tove Lo has released another irresistible song called "True Romance" and announced that their fifth album, "Dirt Femme", will be released on October 14.

The Swedish singer and songwriter's new album features impressive guests such as SG Lewis (participating in two songs), Channel Tres and First Aid Kit.

Tove Lo said of her new album: "Dirt Femme" talks about me and my relationship with my femininity. When I started as a creator and artist, I considered my female characteristics as weaker and strengthened my male characteristics to move forward in life. "Since then I feel a great energy shift in my environment and this album reflects the various ways in which my feminine side helped me but also hurt me."

"I am a pansexual woman married to a straight man. I believe that male and female exist in one spectrum in all people. There are so many more interesting shades than most people want to accept. "The songs on this album will contradict each other, they will probably upset some of you, they will make you want to dance, cry, make love and drive your car very, very, very fast," he explained.

"It's extremely personal as always and that's why it's so hard to describe in a few words. All my feelings, thoughts and questions are concentrated in less than 50 minutes with no answers. But I know I always feel relieved and connected when a song just speaks to my emotions without telling me what to do about it. "I hope this album reaches that little secret pouch of your heart where all the real things are hidden," he added.

"True Romance", a song he co-wrote with Timfromthehouse, is the second song in this new, exciting and introverted chapter by Tove Lo, which will result in a larger number of songs.

"Take a life for my sake. You know I would do it right away. In danger of a true love. It is written to be together. "I would die for love and faith", he sings.

Tove Lo commented on "True Romance": "I do not like the real world. Things are difficult in the real world. Let's go back to our world. " As for the collaboration with Timfromthehouse and how the song came about, he added: "We both needed to write something different and dramatic. It took me three days to find the right lyrics, but I recorded it in one shot ".

The lyrics of the song are based on the movie "True Romance", on the destructive love of its best and worst.

The set of "True Romance" completes the accompanying visualizer, which was shot in the desert near Los Angeles earlier this year. The video, directed by Kenny Laubbacher, "perfectly captures the emotional course of the song," according to Tove Lo.

"True Romance" follows the extremely summery smash "No One Dies From Love", which was released last month and has garnered over 21 million streams worldwide.

Tove Lo will be touring this summer and fall, making stops in North America, Australia, Europe and the United Kingdom. He recently impressed the crowds at the "Governors Ball" in New York, at the "Bonnaroo" in Tennessee and will return to the North American festivals on July 28 for this year's "Lollapalooza" in Chicago.

Tove Lo also announced the launch of its own record company, Pretty Swede Records, in collaboration with mtheory, creating an independent platform for its art.

"It's amazing. I have a lot of freedom and it is fun to work with mtheory. This will be the first release under my company. I'm a pop girl, but I like to do weird things and have complete control over my overall vision. "This is the perfect way to release exactly what I want," she said of her new step.
