Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion celebrate one year of "WAP" and consider a new collaboration

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion upset the entire music industry with just three letters.

The two rappers celebrated last weekend the first anniversary of the release of their collaboration on the provocative single "WAP" and even announced a possible new musical meeting.

Wow, I can not believe that "WAP" closed a year today. I do not even feel it. What song! "Megan Thee Stallion, we have to do it again at some point," Cardi B wrote on Twitter.

Megan Thee Stallion seemed to agree on a sequel to their much-discussed success. «Happy WAPIVERSARY. "Thank you for inviting me to the song. I think people deserve another collaboration," she wrote to Cardi B.

"WAP" was released on August 7 along with an equally explosive music video that has garnered rave reviews and featured appearances by brands such as Kylie Jenner, Normani, Rubi Rose, Sukihana, Rosalía and Mulatto.

Although "WAP" debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, it fueled several reactions from conservatives.

Cardi B, who continued to defend the song, talked about hosting "WAP" on Apple Music in February.

"When WAP came out, the people who criticized it the most were saying, 'It's so ugly, it's so horrible.' "I do not even think they were religious people, they were really a lot of Republicans," she said, noting that they also disapproved of her support for Bernie Sanders and former US President Joe Biden.

"The great Republicans, not like the senators and all those who have verified Twitter accounts, are great influencers. "And of all the things you could have said, did you talk about it?"

Meghan Thee Stallion also dealt with the reactions to her appearance on Stephen Colbert's "The Late Show" in December 2020.

"First of all, I want to thank Cardi for putting me in the song. But I felt that this was really a bit strange. "I know the Republicans had a bad year and they probably had to get their frustration out of it," he said.

"But I want to say thank you for the streams! Because without you, I do not know if we would be here! "But no, these people are crazy, why are you worried about my 'WAP'?" He added, laughing.
