The band has big plans for the 25th anniversary of its debut.
The Spice Girls will be reunited for the sequel to "Spice World", according to reports.
A filmmaker told The Sun that four members of the band, Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Melanie C (Sport Spice), Mel Burton (Scary Spice) and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), had approached screenwriter for the sequel to the 1997 film.
The rumored film will be created on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the debut of the Spice Girls.
The women's band reunited both at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics and for a short tour of 13 concerts in the UK and Ireland in 2019 without Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), who wanted to focus on her family and business.
According to "The Sun", the head of the sequel for "Spice World" is Geri Halliwell, who currently manages the band.
"The girls were talking about how to celebrate the anniversary of the film and are thinking of making a playful sequel," a source said.
"They have come in contact with a screenwriter who is thinking of working on the project and taking hesitant steps forward," he continued.
"They are still in the early stages, but they speak with well-known names in the field, which proves that they are taking the return to the big screen seriously," he stressed.
The movie "Spice World" starred the members of the Spice Girls, as well as Richard E. Grant, Meat Loaf and Elton John.
In 2019 Paramount announced an animated film with the Spice Girls as superheroes, but it is believed to have been postponed.
Last January, Melanie C said she believed Victoria Beckham was "changing her mind" about the idea of rejoining the Spice Girls.
He also revealed that the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the release of their first single, "Wannabe" (released on July 8, 1996), is "high on the agenda" of the band.
