"It's a big deal," said Kimberley Walsh, although she stressed that Girls Aloud would not be reuniting following Sarah Harding's death.
Girls Aloud are set to release new music to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album 'Sound Of The Underground'.
The group, which consisted of Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and the late Sarah Harding, released the record in 2003 after winning the talent show 'Popstars: The Rivals' the previous year.
The album 'Sound Of The Underground' reached No.2 in the UK charts and featured the chart-topping song of the same name.
Last December, Girls Aloud released a special edition of their single 'Sound Of The Underground' on seven-inch vinyl in honor of Sarah Harding, who died aged 39 in September 2021 after a battle with breast cancer.
One hundred percent of the profits went to The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal to raise money for breast cancer research.
During a recent interview, Kimberley Walsh revealed that the remaining four members of Girls Loud will be sharing some alternative renditions of songs from their first album.

"We've got some fun alternative versions of songs around here and little re-releases, just to celebrate because, you know, it's a big deal," the 41-year-old singer told Mail Online.
"Twenty years is a long time and the love we still feel for 'Sound of the Underground' and some of the songs from the first album is still huge," he continued.
"So it's still something to celebrate, but in a subtle way, I guess," he noted.
Despite planning to celebrate the two-decade anniversary of their first album, Kimberley Walsh has explained that Girls Aloud will not be reuniting to record new music or perform live.
"We're not really going to do anything together as a band for obvious reasons," she said, referring to the death of Sarah Harding.
"I think there's already been a re-release of 'Sound Of The Underground' with different girls singing different lyrics, which is pretty fun," she continued.
“If you're a fan, it's fun. Not sure how much fun it is if you don't really like Girls Aloud. But yeah, just stuff like that," he added.
