It is speculated that Lady Gaga will play the role of Harley Quinn.
The first image of Lady Gaga from the upcoming film 'Joker: Folie À Deux' has been released.
The film's director, Todd Phillips, posted a still from the 'Joker' sequel on Instagram to mark the day of love on Tuesday, writing: 'Happy Valentine's Day.'
In the photo we see the blonde Lady Gaga looking intensely into the eyes of the Joker, a role in which Joaquin Phoenix returns. Gaga has red paint on her lips and nose, which appears to come from the Joker's make-up face.
Joaquin Phoenix stares at Lady Gaga just as intensely, but with a look that looks more tender, as opposed to the shock in the pop star's eyes.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga is reportedly keeping her life low-key while she focuses on filming the movie. A source told ET last month that she's "keeping a low profile because she's very focused on her work."
“She's completely absorbed in the 'Joker' sequel and a lot of her energy is directed towards that. He's completely in the mood and wants to rip," he added.
Lady Gaga confirmed she will star in the 'Joker' sequel in August, posting a teaser on her Instagram account in which her silhouette and Joaquin Phoenix's silhouette dance together to the song 'Cheek To Cheek', which Gaga covered famously with Tony Bennett on the self-titled album.
It is speculated that Lady Gaga will play the role of Joker's accomplice Harley Quinn – his psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, who becomes his partner in crime.
Lady Gaga will present the third incarnation of Harley Quinn overall.
Margot Robbie portrayed the role in the 'Suicide Squad' film series and the DC Comics Expanded Universe (DCEU) 'Birds of Prey', while Kaley Cuoco voices the character in the HBO animated series 'Harley Quinn' Max.
The movie "Joker: Folie À Deux" is expected to be released in October 2024.
