The Weeknd's song for the sequel to the highest-grossing movie of all time.

The Weeknd releases new song 'Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)' for highly anticipated film 'Avatar: The Way of Water'.

"Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)" is co-written by The Weeknd himself and produced by iconic EDM supergroup Swedish House Mafia and Grammy Award-winning composer Simon Franglen.

The movie "Avatar: The Way of Water" takes place more than ten years after the events of the first movie in 2009 and tells the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the problems that follow them, the efforts they make to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they experience.

The Weeknd best captures the emotions of the film in "Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)," crafting a song about the toughest battles for the people you love.

The music star sings like a warrior, knowing he might not survive the battle he's about to fight. However, he feels that this is his destiny.

At the beginning of the song, it seems that this battle is somehow related to the protagonist's misfortune. He wishes this curse would not affect the people he loves so much, but it seems the threat has arrived and he must defend others.

"I thought I could protect you to pay for my sins / You give me strength / I'm with you anyway / Nothing's lost / No more pain / Just give me strength," sings The Weeknd on the heartbreaking track.

Before him is victory or death. Either way, he will feel he has fulfilled his destiny, devoting his life to protecting and defending those who deserve his love.

"I know if I die my only choice is to keep on defending / No matter what they say / My love for you is greater than their forces and armies / From above."

When you feel that you are following what destiny wants from you, you continue without doubt. The result no longer matters. You will discover it at the end of your journey. What matters most is that you do what you have to do.

In this regard, the title of the song, "Nothing is Lost", takes on a special meaning in the lyrics: even if I die, it will not be a defeat. We face our destiny with pride.

"You give me strength / I'm with you no matter what / If I die, if I stay / Give me strength / I'm with you no matter what / Nothing is lost / No more pain, just give me strength," sings The Weeknd.

The protagonist goes into his battle with the greatest motivation: he knows that this is his battle and that he has the power of all that he defends.

So this is the real meaning of the lyrics of "Nothing Is Lost": I'm ready for the battle, I'm ready to protect the people I love and I feel their energy and strength. From now on, we follow our destiny and cannot be defeated. Even death would mean the completion of our destiny.

"Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)" by The Weeknd is featured on the album "Avatar: The Way of Water (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)". The soundtrack also contains 22 tracks of music by Simon Franglen.

"Avatar: The Way of Water (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)" will also be released on vinyl in early 2023.
