Nicki Minaj: "Younger rappers have not experienced the hatred I have experienced"

For many years, Nicki Minaj was one of the few hip-hop women to enjoy commercial success, but the road to fame was not easy.

During a live Instagram conversation with Coi Leray, with whom she collaborated on the new single "Blick Blick!", Nicki Minaj claimed that in the first years of her career she faced a big wave of hatred that the younger artists have not seen or never feel.

"Can you girls stop talking about hate?" said the 39-year-old rapper.

"You have never experienced hatred as I have experienced it. What you have experienced is nothing. "You just experienced some of the problems of the growing artist and social media," he continued.

"Everyone thinks you have experienced hatred and believe me, you have not experienced it yet. Many of you have been hated, you have not been abused, the people have been good. "People were kind to you."

The two femcees continued their conversation on Twitter, with Coi Leray telling her followers that they reacted "with a lot of emotional charge" to Nicki Minaj's comments, which she clarified did not offend her.

"When someone with more experience speaks, always listen," Coi Leray said.

"Nicki has been through a lot! It 's still possible, it' s still circulating hits. He basically told me "do not let all your stupid comments and negative energy stop you now, because more money and success bring more problems".

Nicki Minaj responded to Coi Leray's tweet by commenting: "I focused on how talented, flexible, unique artist you are in my eyes."

"I talked about the fact that your verse was constantly changing and getting better and better and about how nice these last four bars are to me; about the fact that I know for sure that you really write lyrics," he added.

Having taken lessons from the hip-hop queen herself, Coi Leray noted that Nicki Minaj is "a strong black woman" and applauded her for the "valuable advice" he gave her.
