Nicki Minaj clarified that she stands by Jesy Nelson after the accusations she received about Blackfishing.

Blackfishing accusations are leveled against non-Black influencers and celebrities when they change their appearance to look Black while they are not.

Jesy Nelson accused of Blackfishing after the release of the music video for her first solo single, "Boyz", featuring Minaj, in which she appears with tanning spray, multiple wigs, fuller lips and uses when singing what some people sing they called it "Black accent".
