Miley Cyrus’ ‘Something Beautiful’: A Bold, Cinematic Pop Opera

Miley Cyrus is set to redefine musical storytelling with her upcoming visual album, Something Beautiful, a project she describes as a “unique pop opera” blending striking visuals with a fresh sonic direction.

A Pop Oratorio with a Cinematic Aesthetic

On March 25, Cyrus unveiled the first trailer for Something Beautiful, offering a glimpse into her latest artistic evolution. The teaser hints at a fusion of rock and pop, enriched with dynamic, modern production. As the trailer closes, she whispers hauntingly:

"If I break away any bodies between us, would you promise that I'm enough if I give you all of my love?"

The visual album, set to premiere in theaters in June, follows Cyrus through elaborate movie sets, backstage corridors, and staircases, all while donning couture designs from Thierry Mugler, Alexander McQueen, and Jean-Paul Gaultier.

A Project with Artistic Vision

A day before the trailer’s release, Cyrus took to Instagram to reveal the album cover—a striking image of her in a sculptural 1997 Mugler headpiece, gazing intensely into the camera. She described the artwork as a reflection of the album’s “bold visual narrative.”

Produced by Cyrus alongside award-winning producer Shawn Everett, Something Beautiful will feature 13 tracks, all crafted under her executive direction.

Inspired by Pink Floyd, With a Pop Culture Twist

Hints about the album’s concept first surfaced in November 2024, when Cyrus told Harper’s Bazaar that she was creating a visual album inspired by The Wall by Pink Floyd—"but with better wardrobe and more pop culture glitz." She described it as an artistic endeavor to “heal, even a little, a sick culture through music.”

With Something Beautiful, Miley Cyrus is poised to deliver a groundbreaking, multi-sensory experience. The only question that remains: How will the world receive it?
