A new book perpetuates long-standing rumors.
Mick Jagger has been labeled bisexual in a new book that also claims the singer had affairs with two other members of the Rolling Stones.
Author Lesley-Ann Jones claims in her new book 'The Stone Age' that Mick Jagger had affairs with Keith Richards in the band's early days, as well as their former guitarist Mick Taylor.
The scandal-mongering Daily Mail presented the book's claims and said the 79-year-old singer should be recast as a "bisexual idol".
Keith Richards and Mick Taylor, who was the Stones' guitarist from 1969 to 1974, are both named in a large passage in the book detailing the love affairs the band members had over the years.
The book also addresses the long-running rumor that Mick Jagger allegedly had an affair with David Bowie, as well as the singer's alleged affair with Austrian actor Helmut Berger, who introduced Mick to his first wife, Bianca.
Lesley-Ann Jones cites Keith Richards' ex-wife Anita Pallenberg and Mick Jagger's ex-partner Marianne Faithfull who say there was apparently a romantic attraction between the two band members.
Anita, who died in 2017 aged 75, was quoted as saying: "From the first moment I met them, I could see that Mick was in love with Keith."
Marianne Faithfull says in the book: “I had a suspicion that there was a sexual background between them. I knew in some part of my mind that Mick was bisexual.'
The 75-year-old singer has previously said: "Of all of Mick's relationships, the only one that really means anything to him is with Keith."
Paul Levett, who is said to have sat next to Mick Taylor's ex-wife Rose at a party, claimed speaking in the book: 'She told me she found her husband in bed with Mick Jagger. Why would she tell me something like that if she hadn't seen it with her own eyes?'
Rumors of the alleged romance have circulated for years, including in the book Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger (2012) by Christopher Andersen, who claimed that the remaining band members caught the two musicians "sleeping together in bed".
Despite the tensions between them, Keith Richards has said of his relationship with Mick Jagger: “Mick and I live off the fire between us. We are made for each other. It's like putting on an old glove."
