Metallica's James Hetfield visited wounded Ukrainian soldiers in hospital

"You made my day," was the comment James Hetfield made after the meeting.

Metallica's James Hetfield visited two wounded Ukrainian soldiers in a Colorado hospital in the United States.

While one of the most legendary bands in the metal scene, Metallica are completely human when it comes to their activities outside of music.

From their relentless philanthropic work through their All Within My Hands Foundation to the fact that James Hetfield personally called a fan of the band who gave birth at one of their concerts, Metallica constantly prove that they are among the best characters in metal. .

This time, according to a report from Colorado's Vail Daily, James Hetfield recently visited the local Vail Health Hospital, where he had the opportunity to meet Roman Denysiuk and Igor Voinyi, two Ukrainian soldiers who were injured during the war conflicts with Russia.

The Metallica singer was introduced to the two soldiers by Kelli Rohrig, co-founder of Limbs for Liberty, a local non-profit organization created to support Ukrainians injured during the war.

The paper reported that Kelli Rohrig ran into James Hetfield in the hospital parking lot and was introduced to him after he said "Good morning." He then asked him to come and meet the two Ukrainian soldiers, along with translator Olga Milinan.

After meeting the two Ukrainian soldiers, James Hetfield left a sticky note on Kelli Rohrig's car that read: "You made my day."

But, the Metallica frontman really made the two soldiers' day when he showed up in Igor Voinyi's room.

"Metallica's songs are very popular in Ukraine. Growing up, we all heard about them and dreamed of seeing them,” Milinan told Vail Daily.

In fact, when Roman Denysiuk and Igor Voinyi were asked if they knew who Metallica were, they simply rolled their eyes and replied, "Yes, of course."

In his brief visit, James Hetfield "wished the two men good luck and see you soon," as Olga Milinan explained.

"It was unexpected. I didn't even believe it at first that it was him," commented Igor Voinyi and added: "It was very short, but it was a very warm meeting. It would be nice to meet him at a campfire and have a drink instead of the hospital."
