Megan Thee Stallion: The Astronomical Amount Future Asked To Be On Her Song

Megan Thee Stallion has revealed that she almost didn't work with Future on her single 'Pressurelicious', but insisted on getting the rapper on the song no matter the cost.

The 27-year-old rapper spoke to Los Angeles' Power 106 radio station about her new album 'Traumazine' out on August 12, which includes 'Pressurelicious'.

During the on-air discussion, Megan Thee Stallion revealed that she faced backlash from her team when she decided she wanted to pay Future the astronomical sum of $250,000 to record a verse for the single.

“I had the beat for 'Pressurelicious', right? I recorded the song and I recorded it a certain way. And I said: “You know something? It would sound really powerful if Future was involved,'' he said.

“I feel like when you're a woman in the music industry, it's always hard to approach a guy and try to get him on a song of yours. You never know what to expect," he asserted.

Megan Thee Stallion later described sending a pitch to Future's team and demanding to know the rapper's fee, though she also wanted to make sure the rapper would send her a recording of his take on "Pressurelicious" while they were both at Miami.

"They said: 'OK, 250. He wants 250,000.' I replied: "Okay, it's done. Somebody go get 250,000 out of the bank and go deliver it to Future and tell him I need the verse before he leaves,'” he recalled.

Despite her team's initial objections, Megan Thee Stallion went ahead with the deal and Future produced a seven-minute track, from which a section was selected for the final version of "Pressurelicious".

Megan Thee Stallion also described 'Traumazine' as an album where she "comes to terms with herself" after years of trauma.

“I feel like I wrote this album as a letter to me, a letter to my mother (who died in 2019). I didn't even write these songs like regular songs, I wrote them like journal notes. It's different," he explained.
