Adam Levine has officially confirmed what fans have long suspected—Maroon 5 is back in the studio, preparing to launch a brand-new era with fresh music and an upcoming tour.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on April 7, the frontman couldn't hide his excitement about what lies ahead. When Fallon brought up the rumors swirling about a new single or album, Levine responded with playful certainty: “The rumors are true. It’s happening.”
While keeping most details under wraps, Levine offered a tantalizing preview: a new single is expected by the end of the month, and the full album is aiming for a summer release—albeit with a “to be determined” timeline. As for hitting the road? “Fall-ish,” he teased, hinting at a tour later this year.
During the interview, Levine also reflected on a key creative shift in the band’s journey—his collaboration with producer Benny Blanco on the mega-hit Moves Like Jagger. It marked the first time the band truly opened up its songwriting process to outside influences. “Benny’s hilarious and full of energy,” Levine said. “He was the one who pushed me to write music outside the band’s typical box.”
That spark of inspiration led to hits like Stereo Hearts and gave Levine a new lens for his creative process. Still, he noted, he’s returned to a more introspective style in recent years.
Maroon 5’s last album, Jordi (2021), featured big-name collaborations with Megan Thee Stallion, Stevie Nicks, H.E.R., and YG. The record was emotionally rich—described by Rolling Stone as “almost elegiac”—but some critics felt it leaned a bit too heavy on mood.
Now, with a fresh project on the way and live shows in the pipeline, Maroon 5 seems ready to reintroduce themselves with renewed energy and clarity. And if Levine’s enthusiasm is any indication, fans are in for something bold, bright, and unmistakably Maroon 5.
