Lisa reveals first solo album

Lisa has officially announced her debut solo album.

The 27-year-old BLACKPINK star revealed that her highly anticipated album, Alter Ego, will drop on February 28. To accompany the announcement, Lisa released a three-minute teaser video in which she embodies five distinct characters, each representing different facets of her personality.

The album will include her previously released singles: Rockstar, New Woman featuring Rosalía, and Moonlit Floor, a reimagined version of Sixpence None The Richer’s classic hit Kiss Me.

In a recent interview with Billboard, the singer and rapper, who has been a member of BLACKPINK since 2016, admitted to feeling nervous about stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist.

“At first, I was scared and nervous because I’ve never really done my own thing,” she shared. “But now, I’m having fun. The reaction from fans when my singles came out—it’s healing. I thought, ‘Oh, my God, yeah—I did a great job!’”

When asked about her current music tastes, Lisa confessed she has been entirely focused on finalizing her own album.

“It’s embarrassing to say, but I listen to my album,” she said. “I’m trying to figure out the tracklist and see what I can tweak... everything’s still coming together.”

The Pink Venom singer also teased fans, saying, “I think they’re going to be shocked at how capable I am of doing so many things.”
