January 20, 2021

Lady Gaga has made her mark on the inauguration of the new President of the United States.

Lady Gaga performed the National Anthem of the United States at the swearing-in ceremony of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, which took place on Wednesday, January 20 at the Capitol.

The pop star dressed for the occasion in a voluminous dress in red and black, while accompanying her appearance with a huge gold brooch depicting a dove that carried in its beak an olive branch, a symbol of peace.

Lady Gaga performed the "Asteroessa Flag" accompanied by the multi-member band of the US Navy, with her appearance having a traditional air.

The 34-year-old singer's performance, which used a golden microphone, was very operatic, but acquired a pleasant little pop note in the last verse of the United States National Anthem.

Lady Gaga referred to her appearance at the swearing-in of Joe Biden in one of a series of tweets she posted earlier today.

"I am honored to sing our National Anthem for the American people. I will sing during a ceremony, a transition, a moment of change - between the 45th and 46th Presidents of the United States. "For me, this is very important," he wrote.

"My intention is to recognize our past, to heal our present and to be excited for a future where we will work with affection. "I will sing in the hearts of all the people who live on this earth."
