Lady Gaga: Everything you need to know about her new album 'Mayhem'

A Highly Anticipated Release

Lady Gaga's new album, Mayhem, includes 14 songs, along with two bonus tracks. The album is set to be released on March 7, 2025, serving as the follow-up to her highly successful Chromatica (2020), which marked her powerful return to the pop scene.

Since Chromatica, Lady Gaga has been in an intensely creative period. Her Las Vegas residencies, Enigma and Jazz & Piano, received rave reviews and attracted thousands of fans. She has also expanded her film career with starring roles in House of Gucci (2021) and Joker: Folie à Deux (2024).

The Journey to Mayhem

In September 2024, Gaga surprised fans with the release of Harlequin, initially causing confusion about whether it was her seventh studio album. It was later confirmed to be the soundtrack to Joker: Folie à Deux, which she described as “LG 6.5.” The album featured jazz and theatrical pieces, blending classical arrangements with new material.

Shortly after, she began revealing details about her next official studio album. In October, she teased her new work with the release of the single Disease, a dark-pop dance anthem accompanied by a striking gothic video.

On January 27, 2025, Gaga officially announced Mayhem, comparing its creative process to “reassembling a broken mirror.” She stated:

“Even if you can't put the pieces together perfectly, you can make something beautiful and complete in its own unique way.”

Tracklist & Collaborations

On February 18, 2025, she unveiled the full tracklist, which includes the already known singles Die With A Smile (feat. Bruno Mars), Disease, and Abracadabra. Notable titles such as Garden Of Eden, Perfect Celebrity, and Zombieboy hint at the album's thematic depth and sonic direction.

Gaga didn't limit herself to working with Bruno Mars. French producer Gesaffelstein, known for his electronic and industrial sound, features on the track Killah. Additionally, observant fans spotted hints of two bonus tracks—Kill For Love and Can’t Stop The High—in teaser videos, heightening excitement.

A Monumental Build-Up

Gaga remains in one of the busiest phases of her career. At the 2025 Grammys, she won Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group for Die With A Smile and premiered the music video for Abracadabra. Ahead of the 2025 Super Bowl, she delivered a moving performance of Hold My Hand, dedicating it to victims of the tragic terrorist attack in New Orleans.

Promotions for Mayhem are in full swing. Gaga recently revamped her official website, adding an interactive game where users uncover hidden phrases—many speculate they are lyrics from the new album.

With the tracklist revealed and anticipation at an all-time high, thousands of fans worldwide eagerly await Mayhem’s release on March 7th.
