Kesha celebrates 15 years of her iconic debut album ''animal''

Kesha is marking the 15th anniversary of her debut album, Animal, which first hit shelves on January 5, 2010. Featuring chart-topping hits like Tik Tok, Take It Off, and Your Love Is My Drug, the album catapulted her into global stardom.

On Monday, the singer-songwriter took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post alongside throwback photos and a video from a promotional photoshoot for the album. Reflecting on the project, she wrote:
"I spent my whole life learning the art of songwriting from my mom (Pebe Sebert), an iconic songwriter herself, so when Animal came out, it was a culmination of the sounds of growing up, the sounds of falling in love, heartbreak, the sounds of coming of age. I had no idea what these songs would open up for me and what kind of life I would be creating for myself just by putting these songs out in the world. I'm so happy I did, and so happy you've connected to it the way that you have, and continue to do so."

A Timeless Anthem

The anniversary comes on the heels of Tik Tok climbing streaming charts once again, thanks to Kesha’s electrifying performance of the song during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest. Reflecting on the track's enduring appeal, she added:
"Just goes to show that we all go through these same pivotal feelings and emotions growing up. I'm so happy to have grown up with all of you. Happy anniversary, Animal. I had no idea you were that b**ch. But turns out you totally are."

Looking Ahead

The celebration follows a landmark moment in Kesha’s career last year, when she launched her self-titled label, Kesha Records, after settling her long-standing legal battle with producer Dr. Luke. Now free to take full creative control of her music, Kesha has promised fans new releases in 2024.

With 15 years of iconic hits and a bright future ahead, Kesha continues to captivate fans with her bold artistry and unapologetic spirit.
