Katy Perry kicked off the show "PLAY" scheduled for March 29 at the Resorts World in Las Vegas on Thursday, December 29th.

The pop singer told ABC News that she decided to make a series of regular appearances in Las Vegas because it literally allows her to "do it all": be a pop and spend a lot of time with her daughter, Daisy Dove.

"Being in Las Vegas means I can also still be a mother and leave my daughter in kindergarten in the future," she said.

"And I will continue to tour the world in a few years, for sure. "But I think the first three years of a child's life are very important, we just have to make sure that their foundation is strong."

"I just want to be able to do both, to do everything. "Because for 12 years, I have definitely put all my energy into my work and now I just find that balance," he explained.

Katy Perry, who recently released the new single "When I'm Gone" with Alesso, also revealed that "it has always been part of her long-term goals" to perform in Las Vegas.

And although it was not necessary for her to undertake such a huge project in parallel with her other endeavors, such as the presentation to the jury of "American Idol" for the fifth consecutive year, she did not want to miss the opportunity to sing for her fans.

"I feel happy when I can be on stage and sing with other people who find joy in my songs and find empowerment," he said.

"Music is a really powerful tool that helps us get through some of the worst moments of our lives or empowers us. And I think there is still so much joy and empowerment and hope and love that we can spread from the stage, "said Katy Perry.
