Jennifer Lopez: The shooting of the movie "The Mother" has stopped

The coronavirus paralyzed Jennifer Lopez's new film.
Jennifer Lopez left the Spanish island of Gran Canaria on Saturday night after the shooting of the new Netflix movie "The Mother" was stopped due to massive cases of coronavirus.

In exclusive photos provided by Page Six, the 52-year-old singer was seen boarding a private plane to return to the United States.

Jennifer Lopez was trying to keep her tone down, hiding her eyes with a pair of sunglasses while wearing a face mask to protect herself from the coronavirus.

The famous singer and actress arrived in Gran Canaria just last week to continue shooting the Netflix movie co-starring actor Joseph Fiennes in the "Handmaid's Tale" series.

According to the script of the film, Jennifer Lopez plays a murderer who stops hiding and returns to the surface to protect her daughter, whom she abandoned years ago.

However, as the local newspaper "La Provincia" first reported, a "massive" spread of the coronavirus to "a part of the film crew" led to the temporary suspension of filming and their suspension for "weeks".

Jennifer Lopez was going to shoot a lot of scenes during the week, but was only seen shooting an outdoor scene with Joseph Fiennes on Wednesday, according to the Spanish newspaper.

The shooting of "The Mother" started last October and was to be completed later this month.

Jennifer Lopez's new film is directed by Niki Caro, who put her stamp on the live action remake of "Mulan" released in 2020.
