Jennifer Lopez found strength in her kids after her split from Ben Affleck

In a candid interview with El País, Jennifer Lopez opened up about navigating one of the most emotional chapters of her life: her recent split from Ben Affleck, whom she married in 2022 and separated from in 2025.

Speaking honestly about the toll the breakup took on her family, the 55-year-old superstar—who is mom to 17-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony—shared how her priority was always their emotional well-being.

“I told them, ‘This is a tough time, but I promise you, you’re going to see me come out the other side stronger. I promise.’ And I did,” she said.

That promise, she believes, has come full circle. “Now, they feel it too,” Lopez added. “And that gives me such a deep sense of peace.”

Lopez’s personal life isn’t the only area that’s been tested recently. In May 2024, she canceled her much-anticipated world tour just weeks before it was set to begin. But rather than retreat, she leaned into her inner strength.

“I’m moving forward happier than ever,” she said. “I’m proud of myself—especially for guiding my kids through something so hard. They’re stronger now, and that fills me up.”

With her signature warmth and determination, Lopez now sees the stage as her place of healing and joy: “This is the perfect time to get back out there—to sing, dance, and have a great time with everyone,” she said with a smile.
