Harry Styles sent Lizzo flowers to congratulate her for knocking him off the top

Lizzo's "About Damn Time" dropped from No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with Harry Styles' 'As It Was'.
Lizzo wasn't the only one celebrating the rise of her single 'About Damn Time' to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The 34-year-old singer revealed on TikTok on Tuesday night that her boyfriend Harry Styles sent her a bouquet of flowers right after it was announced that her song had topped the Hot 100.

"Thank you for the flowers Harry," Lizzo said in the video, showing the colorful bouquet she received from the British pop star. "Harry sent me flowers congratulating me on 'About Damn Time' going to No. 1," he wrote.

Harry Styles' gesture is particularly kind, especially considering that Lizzo's "About Damn Time" dethroned his own "As It Was" from the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

"About Damn Time" is Lizzo's second song to dominate the Hot 100 at No. 1, following "Truth Hurts," which peaked in September 2019.

Lizzo revealed in another TikTok video that making the song wasn't easy.

"We literally had 50 versions of this damn song," he wrote, in the caption of a video of him recording the final version of "About Damn Time."

“I thought we would never finish it. But it was worth it!” he added.

The admiration between Lizzo and Harry Styles is mutual.

During a 2019 appearance on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge series to promote his 'Fine Line' album, Harry Styles performed a cover of Lizzo's 'Juice'. That January, the two artists appeared together on stage in Miami and sang "Juice."

When Lizzo appeared on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge the following month, she took the opportunity to hit back at Harry Styles and sang 'Adore You'.

Last April, Harry Styles welcomed Lizzo on stage during the second three-day performance of the 'Coachella' festival, which he headlined this year, and sang Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive' with her.

Lizzo opened up about their relationship during an interview with the BBC earlier this month.

“The first time we met… we talked for a long time. He's a great person, a great listener, a great listener, and he really cares about how you feel, and he's very funny,” she said.

“This is an interesting way for people with social anxiety to meet someone for the first time. It's not the ideal way. But Harry can make even the most socially anxious person feel very comfortable," she added.
