Harry Styles made a rare public appearance at the Tokyo Marathon, where he delivered an impressive performance, completing the race in 3 hours, 24 minutes, and 7 seconds—a time that placed him ahead of thousands of runners.
The 31-year-old British artist, who has largely stayed out of the spotlight since wrapping up his Love on Tour in July 2023, took to the streets of Tokyo on Sunday, March 1, to tackle the renowned 42.195 km course.
A Strong Showing in the Race
According to official results, Styles crossed the finish line with a net time of 3:24:07 and an official time of 3:37:19, securing 6,010th place among 26,706 runners who completed the marathon.
While Ethiopia’s Tadese Takele won the men’s race with a blazing time of 2:03:23, Styles impressed with his steady and disciplined pacing. He clocked the first half in 1:42:03 and the second in 1:42:04, showcasing remarkable consistency.
His average pace was 4:51 per kilometer, and his fastest 5K split—from kilometers 30 to 35—was 23:16, demonstrating his endurance and preparation.
Running Through Tokyo’s Iconic Landmarks
Styles, along with over 37,000 runners, experienced a scenic and culturally rich marathon route through Tokyo’s historic and modern landmarks. The course took participants past Shinjuku, the Sensō-ji Temple in Asakusa, the Ryogoku district (famous for sumo wrestling), and the upscale Ginza area, before concluding near Tokyo Station.
Fan Reactions and Speculation About His Future
Videos shared on social media captured Styles running in black athletic gear and neon yellow Nike shoes, smiling and acknowledging fans along the route.
His participation also sparked renewed speculation about his career. While Styles has clearly spent countless hours preparing for the marathon, fans are hopeful that he has also been dedicating time in the studio—potentially working on new music.
With a strong showing in the Tokyo Marathon, Styles has proven he’s in peak physical condition. Now, the question remains: is he gearing up for a musical comeback as well?
