Gwen Stefani has drawn inspiration from 70s soft rock for her upcoming album.
The 54-year-old No Doubt frontwoman clarifies that despite sporting a cowboy hat on the cover of her new LP, 'Bouquet', she hasn't switched to country music. This record marks her first solo release in seven years.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, she explained, “It’s not a country album.
"It’s all the music I grew up listening to in the station wagon on the way to church.
“Yacht rock, though it wasn’t called that back then. I wanted this album to reflect the music I enjoy now.”
On the album's title, she added: "That’s why 'Bouquet' feels like the perfect name—every song feels handpicked with meaning."
So far, fans have been treated to the single 'Somebody Else's' and her duet with husband Blake Shelton, 'Purple Irises'.
'Bouquet' is Gwen’s fifth solo studio album, following her 2016 release 'This Is What the Truth Feels Like' and her 2017 holiday album 'You Make It Feel Like Christmas'.
Her solo project comes after she reunited with No Doubt for a Coachella performance in April, their first since the band went on hiatus in 2013.
Additionally, Gwen recently dropped a new track, 'Hello World', alongside Ryan Tedder and Anderson .Paak to celebrate the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
