Eminem's 'Houdini' Becomes the Largest Music Video Release on Vevo in the UK for 2024


Vevo has unveiled its annual end-of-year charts, highlighting the most-watched music videos, artists, and top premieres over the past year.

KAROL G Tops Global Artist Rankings Again
For the fourth consecutive year, KAROL G claimed the title of Vevo’s Most Watched Artist globally, amassing an impressive 3.5 billion views in 2024. Shakira followed with 1.96 billion global views, while Taylor Swift secured third place with 1.95 billion. The Weeknd (1.8 billion) and Feid (1.7 billion) completed the top five. Ariana Grande, Maluma, Billie Eilish, and Lady Gaga re-entered the global top 10, showcasing enduring appeal.

Taylor Swift Dominates UK Charts
In the UK, Taylor Swift took the top spot with 83.1 million views, followed closely by Eminem with 81.8 million. Chris Brown (49.1 million), Lady Gaga (44.2 million), and The Weeknd (40.9 million) rounded out the top five.

Eminem’s "Houdini" Reigns as Top Premiere
Eminem’s nostalgia-filled Houdini emerged as the top Vevo premiere of 2024 both globally and in the UK, gathering 5 million UK views and 56.2 million global views in its first two weeks. The video recorded a record-breaking 11.6 million global views in a single day on May 31. Other notable UK premieres included Sabrina Carpenter’s Taste (2.6 million UK views) and Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us (2 million UK views). Globally, Not Like Us ranked second with 51.1 million views, followed by The Weeknd’s Dancing in the Flames (44.9 million).

Most-Watched Music Videos Reflect Genre Diversity
In the UK, Houdini also became the most-watched music video, with 13.8 million views, followed by Shaboozey’s A Bar Song (Tipsy) (11.7 million) and Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso (10.1 million). Post Malone’s country hit I Had Some Help featuring Morgan Wallen took fifth place with 6.4 million views.

Globally, Becky G’s POR EL CONTRARIO featuring Leonardo Aguilar and Ángela Aguilar claimed the top spot with over 312.7 million views, marking a historic first for Regional Mexican music on Vevo’s global charts. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ Die With a Smile ranked second with 298.6 million views, while FloyyMenor and Cris MJ’s Gata Only placed third with 296.4 million. Sabrina Carpenter and KAROL G also featured in the global top five with Espresso (211.2 million) and Antes Te Hubiera Conocido (193.7 million), respectively.

“This year’s rankings reflect the continuing globalization of music,” said JP Evangelista, Vevo’s SVP of Content, Programming & Marketing. He highlighted the significant strides of genres like Country, Hip-Hop, and Regional Mexican in shaping the cultural zeitgeist.
