Ed Sheeran is on track to claim the top spot on the Official Albums Chart this week.
His compilation album +–=÷× (Tour Collection), which has been a consistent presence on the charts since its release in September, is poised to hit Number 1 for the first time. If it succeeds, it will mark Ed’s eighth UK Number 1 album, joining his previous chart-topping releases: + (2011), X (2014), ÷ (2017), No. 6 Collaborations Project (2019), = (2021), - (2023), and Autumn Variations (2023).
However, Sheeran faces stiff competition from pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter, whose album Short n’ Sweet is a strong contender at Number 2.
Chappell Roan’s debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, which topped the charts in August, is eyeing a re-entry into the Top 3 at Number 3, showcasing her rising prominence in pop this year.
The Arctic Monkeys’ classic AM (2013) is making a move to rejoin the Top 10 at Number 9, while their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not (2006) could climb back into the Top 40 at Number 40, just ahead of the 20th anniversary of their iconic single I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor.
Olivia Rodrigo’s albums continue their upward momentum during the post-holiday surge. Her sophomore album GUTS stands at Number 12 midweek, while her debut album SOUR has risen to Number 19.
Linkin Park’s former chart-topper From Zero is also gaining traction, expected to re-enter the Top 20 at Number 16.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s dominance shows no signs of waning. The global superstar could place six albums in the Top 40 this week, including The Tortured Poets Department (8), folklore (28), Lover (35), Midnights (36), and reputation (38), the latter widely anticipated to be her next re-release in 2025.
