The American singer and rapper announced through her social media accounts that she will not make her scheduled appearances at festivals this summer and will not accompany The Weeknd on his upcoming tour, because it is necessary to undergo surgery on her tonsils. .

"Unfortunately I have to have surgery on my tonsils as soon as possible. It is a routine operation, but recovery will take some time due to the swelling. "That means I have to cancel my appearances at my festivals this summer as well as on The Weeknd tour."

"I feel awful about it, but I'm looking forward to recovering so I can go back to music and create an experience for everyone," added Doja Cat.

Doja Cat also canceled its scheduled appearances at the Hangout Festival in Alabama this weekend and at the Glastonbury Festival in the United Kingdom next month.

The 26-year-old singer was to accompany The Weeknd on the North American leg of the "After Hours Til Dawn Tour" which will start on July 8 in Toronto, Canada and will end on September 3 in Los Angeles.

On Thursday, Doja Cat informed fans that earlier this week she underwent surgery to clear an abscess that had appeared in her tonsils due to infection and warned that "there may soon be bad news for everyone."

Doja Cat said she was being treated with antibiotics, but admitted that the problem in her tonsils worsened after her appearance at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 15, where she spent the day "recklessly steaming and drinking wine."
