Deep Purple in Greece – At Rockwave Festival 2023

July 2023 will finally see Deep Purple's long-awaited appearance at the Rockwave Festival.

Deep Purple and Saxon will perform at Rockwave Festival 2023 at Terra Vibe Park in Malacca on July 7, 2023.

Deep Purple is without a doubt the band - legend. It is the deep purple in which the dreams and desires of a restless yet resilient generation were clothed. A generation, which even today maintains its vitality and stubbornness.

The founders of hard rock / heavy metal music return to Greece and add the Rockwave Festival to the stops of their European tour. On Friday July 7, the British super rock stars promise an unforgettable musical night.

The history of Deep Purple spans more than 50 years. It begins in 1968 when, in Hertford, Great Britain, a group of musicians appeared that would soon be called Deep Purple and would quickly join the Heretical Holy Trinity of British hard rock / heavy metal, along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.

With a body of work spanning five decades, with anthemic hits such as 'Smoke On The Water', 'Child In Time', 'Strange Kind Of Woman', 'Black Night', 'Highway Star', 'Perfect Strangers', ' Hush", "Woman From Tokyo", Deep Purple remain pioneers of hard rock while maintaining their freshness and artistic daring.

In 2020 they released their 21st album, 'Whoosh', and in 2021 they released their 22nd, 'Turning To Crime', which featured covers of their favorite songs.

In July 2022, Steve Morse announced that he was leaving the band for good after 28 years. Simon McBride, of Sweet Savage, officially took his place on guitars in September.

Deep Purple have now entered their next chapter and Ian Gillan has announced that their 23rd album is due for release in 2023.

Ian Gillan recently assured Deep Purple fans that no thoughts of retirement are on their mind.

On the night of July 7, 2023, Deep Purple come to Terra Vibe Park, to prove that they keep their promises.

Saxon

SAXON is the epitome of heavy metal with more than 45 years of uninterrupted history. The legendary band's trademark metal eagle will land on July 7, 2023 at Terra Vibe.

SAXON are considered, and rightfully so, one of the top live bands. They are the band you must see live - at least once in your life.

Anyone who sees "Saxons" on stage experiences a unique experience and admires the energy of all members and especially their leader, their soul, the unstoppable frontman, Peter "Biff" Byford, with his unique voice and tremendous stage presence.

Biff is used to defying the setlist to play what the audience is passionately asking for. And then he starts pounding the passionate fans with all time classic hits, one after the other, non-stop. "Wheels of Steel", "747 (Strangers in the Night)", "Denim and Leather", "Thunderbolt", "Motorcycle Man", "Never Surrender", "Strong Arm of the Law", "Power and the Glory" , 'Crusader', 'Princess of the Night', 'Heavy Metal Thunder' and many more.

They fired up their engines in Barnsley, Yorkshire in the late '70s, spearheading the explosion of the so-called NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) movement. Together with Iron Maiden and Def Leppard they brought hard rock and heavy metal back to the fore and came to be considered one of the biggest and most influential heavy metal bands of all time.

In 2022 SAXON released their new album 'Carpe Diem', sending a strong message: 'seize the day'.

The legendary SAXON are back at Rockwave 2023. "Take the chance" to enjoy authentic, hard, British, purebred metal and one of the most recognizable voices in the metal scene.
