Larry Dvoskin said, "When I first spoke with the Bowie Estate manager, he told me that he originally intended to listen to my proposal to release this song as an NFT, and then politely decline."
“But when he discovered the original 2002 email in which Bowie expressed his excitement about the recording, it changed his mind. It was a creative venture that David did not get to see published in his lifetime. We are honoring his wish by releasing it now," he explained.
“I'm first and foremost a huge Bowie fan. It would be wrong to try to copy the original song. This is something different. David simply imagined a dreamier, electronic version. It subverts expectations in the most original way," he added.
