Cher reveals that her upcoming album will be her final release

Cher has announced that the next album she records will likely be her last.

The 78-year-old music legend, whose career began in 1964 with hits alongside her late ex-husband Sonny Bono, shared the news during a conversation at London’s Lyceum Theatre on Monday, according to The Sun.

Cher’s most recent original album, Closer to the Truth, was released in 2013, followed by an ABBA cover album, Dancing Queen, in 2018, and her first Christmas album just last year. Now, she says the album she’s currently working on will mark the end of her time in the recording studio.

"This is probably my last album that I'm gonna do," the I Got You Babe singer shared. "I'm really excited. They are great songs, and I'm just really excited that I'm doing it. I'm really excited to be doing anything now."

Cher joked about her age, saying, "I'm older than dirt now, OK? I'm the oldest person I meet in almost every room unless I'm in an old folks' home. I don't care if you're 50. I'd give anything to be 60 again. I was a f***ing hottie!"

Reflecting on her perspective, she added, "It’s weird because I know I’m older, but I don’t know how to feel it. I don’t feel any different than I’ve always felt. I like hanging out with younger people, not just men. I like young people because a lot of my friends don’t want to have that much fun. They can just go off and be old fogies."
