Cardi B shared her thoughts on the political debate following the massacre at Robb Elementary School in Ovalde, Texas, where an 18-year-old gunman opened fire on Tuesday, May 24, killing 19 children and two teachers.
"These mass shootings are not the right time for political parties or for you 'social media politicians' to launch agendas," Cardi B wrote on Twitter.
"People are dead! You do not care or take into account what these families are going through or how they feel or want. "Think before you speak," he added.
Cardi B then provoked reactions from some Twitter users with her statements, with one of her fans pointing out that the discussion should take place in tragic moments like these.
"Have I seen people discuss whether the white racist who killed people has more coverage than the black racist who threw a car into the crowd?" replied the 29-year-old rapper,
"You are serious; both are awesome! "Imagine being a victim of a broker to promote an agenda, while these families have just lost a loved one," he continued.
Another Twitter user accused Cardi B that while she "claims to be politically aware", she is actually only interested in "herself and her image".
Cardi B refuted the claim by writing: "Baby, I'm not giving a damn about the Liberals, the Conservatives, the Republicans and the Democrats right now! "I'm interested in the pain that these people's families are going through."
"I decided to write about it on Twitter, because every time a traumatic event happens, some people try to pursue a different agenda for their own personal benefit, without caring at all about the feelings of these families," he explained in another post. .
In the end, Cardi B apologized to those who were offended by its posts.
"All the mass shootings are an absurd act of violence because of easy access to weapons, I would never want to stop the debate that is promoting gun reform," he said.
"Political views should not matter at the moment, but I want to compare the trauma. I'm sorry for those who felt offended or hurt. "
