This is probably a crucial confession to the outcome of the trial, because a celebrity like Cardi B can only win such a lawsuit if he can prove that Kebe either deliberately lied or recklessly ignored the truth.
In her own testimony Thursday, Cardi B described to jurors how she was hurt by Kebe's statements.
She noted that while she had never had suicidal tendencies in the past, despite the hardships she faced in her life with poverty, homelessness and abuse, Kebe's allegations had deeply hurt her. She also revealed that she was struggling to get close to her husband, rapper Offset, and finally decided to visit a psychologist because of these videos.
One of the main allegations in the lawsuit is that Kebe's videos spread false rumors that Cardi B had contracted a sexually transmitted disease, such as herpes. In some of the posts cited by the lawsuit, Cardi B was referred to as "Herpes B".
During her testimony, Cardi B categorically denied having herpes and also referred to the harm caused by those allegations.
