Cardi B has revealed that her monthly expenses can soar to $3 million (£2.3 million).
Earlier this week, the I Like It rapper shared a sponsored post for the clothing brand Shein on her Instagram, sparking questions from fans. Many were curious why Cardi—whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar—would partner with a fast fashion label when she predominantly wears high-end designer outfits.
Addressing the criticism on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Cardi shared a voice recording where she emphasized that she’s not merely "surviving" and claimed she could spend "about $3 million in a month."
“People say I’m surviving off Shein deals and brand deals—wait a minute,” she said. “Let me tell you something: I could wake up tomorrow, sign a contract, and have half of $65 million—or half of $70 million—sitting in my bank.”
She also posted a screenshot of a text exchange allegedly with a concert promoter from September. The messages revealed negotiations for a potential tour that would have paid her $1 million (£780,000) per show, totaling $65 million (£51 million). Cardi claimed she was offered half the payment upfront upon signing but turned it down as it was her "off year."
The 32-year-old rapper and her husband, Offset, welcomed their third child, a daughter, in September. Reflecting on her career plans, Cardi mentioned she wouldn’t consider touring again until she drops her next album.
“I don’t want to accept tour offers until my album is announced because I know the deals will increase once it’s out,” she explained. “You have to be strategic. You can’t act desperate when you’re not.”
Cardi’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, was released in 2018.
